Providing extensive services to the lumber industry, from troubleshooting to the full design and commissioning of new systems such as debarkers, canters, sorters, planers, chippers, banders, etc...

Lumber mills very often employ Rockwell Automation^® PLC and HMI hardware, ControlLogix^® being the favourite platform. I will confidently provide programming/commissioning services for your projects on this or any other platform, as well as education and training for personnel.

In supporting my clients, I often provide assistance troubleshooting erratic behaviour in systems such as sorters, saw movement timing, communication between systems, and configuration of new equipment. No problem is too big or too small.

Research & Design

My favourite line of work, developing R&D projects allows me the satisfaction of creating entirely new systems that my clients love.

Some R&D projects I have pursued include automated drill rig control to provide high accuracy directional drilling, self contained gold concentrators that offer fully automated control without a PLC (all controls implemented in a VFD), tree planters, energy systems and more.

The picture above displays a model pump jack I built to develop VFD functionality that would monitor the health of the pump system. The status of a well and health of a pump jack can be accurately determined according to the torque being applied throughout the pumping cycle.

I love Python and I am competent in C#, although I will be happy to adapt to any language you require. Examples of products I have developed include graphic label design software in use by a large lumber manufacturer and API's to integrate scanners and printers to automation systems.
